Donations and money

Refunds and pending donations

A donation shows before it settles. Refunds stay visible so a number never changes behind your back.

Pending

When a card is charged, the donation is real, but the money and the exact fee take a little longer to settle. Until they do, your dashboard shows a line under the four numbers saying how many donations are still settling and are not counted above yet.

Nothing is wrong. Those donations appear in the totals once they settle, usually within a day or two.

Refunds

A refund is issued by your organization from its own Stripe dashboard. Fundly does not issue refunds, because Fundly does not hold the money.

  • A refunded donation stops counting toward what you raised.
  • It still appears in your CSV, with a status of refunded and the amount that went back.
  • It is visible on purpose. Money that arrived and then left has to be seen, or your total changes between two exports with nothing to explain it.

Disputes

A disputed charge is handled by your organization directly with Stripe, since your organization owns the account and carries the liability. Contact whoever runs your foundation as soon as one appears.
