When something is wrong

Donor questions and receipts

What a donor gets, what you can see about them, and what to do when they ask you for something.

What a donor gets

One receipt by email for the gift they just made. That is the only thing this platform ever sends a donor. They are never added to a list, never emailed again, and never texted.

A donor asks for a receipt again

Ask them to check spam first. If they still need one, your foundation can find the charge in their own Stripe dashboard and resend it. You cannot do it from your dashboard.

A donor asks for a refund

Refunds are issued by your organization in Stripe. Pass it to whoever runs your foundation with the date and the amount. See Refunds and pending donations.

You want to know who gave

Your dashboard shows you how many people gave, how many gifts that is, and how much, but never who they were. Donor names and emails are not on your dashboard, not on any public page, and not in your CSV export.

Your foundation holds the donor records at the organization level, and they survive across seasons. If you need to thank people personally, that request goes through them.

Tax questions

Send those to your foundation. Whether a gift is deductible depends on the organization’s own status, not on the software, and nobody at Fundly should be answering it.
